Sumbawa Barat, KMCNews – Bangsa yang besar seperti diungkapkan Bung Karno adalah bangsa yang menghargai dan menghormati jasa para pahlawannya.

Seperti dikutip KMCNews dari Buku Kumpulan Arsip Sejarah Budaya Kabupaten Sumbawa yang diterbitkan Kantor Arsip dan Perpustakaan Daerah Kabupaten Sumbawa tahun 2008, dari sekian tokoh yang memliki sejarah dalam perjuangan rakyat menghadapi Belanda, nama Lalu Mangandaralam Putra dari Lalu Maspakali bin Lalu Mangandarsyah Dea Syeikh Tuan Pangeran ini tercatat salah satunya.

Sebagai salah satu tokoh Sumbawa yang berpengaruh saat itu tahun 1947, dalam perjuangannya di tanah Samawa, Lalu Mangandaralam pernah ditangkap kemudian ditahan Pemerintah Belanda kemudian dipukul dan disiksa di penjara Sumbawa Besar hingga kemudian dihukum 4 tahun penjara dan diasingkan atau dibuang ke Kupang Nusa Tenggara Timur, saat itu dalam penjara di Kupang beliau bersama Bung Karno.

Sejarah kemudian mencatat paska agresi Belanda di Indonesia, dan Indonesia benar-benar merdeka kemudian Presiden Soekarno berkuasa, berkat perjuangannya Lalu Mangandaralam mendapat tanda jasa pahlawan dari Presiden Soekarno pada tanggal 10 November  tahun 1958, kemudian  piagam tanda kehormatan Satpalantjana Karya Satya  dari Presiden Soeharto tahun  1969 saat Lalu Mangandaralam bertugas dalam kariernya sebagai Kepala Kantor Perbendaharaan Negara di Banjarmasin.(K*)
